The Montessori inspired season mat is a wonderful resource to help your child understand time in the form of months and seasons.

The mat is hand made from a high quality 100% cotton, padded with wadding for stability and durability, and lined with 100% cotton on the bottom side.

Each quarter is divided into three parts to symbolize the months and seasons of the year.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LAMINATED CARDS AND PROPS ARE NOT INCLUDED, AND USED AS AN EXAMPLE ONLY.

Additional props that you can make at home to compliment the season mat:
Laminate matching labelled cards with the names of each month. The matching colours will give the child a control of error when placing them on the mat. For example, I have laminated September, October and November on orange card which helps the child to identify the Autumn season on the mat.

How to use the mat:
Place the mat on the floor and put the bowl of objects in the centre.
Discuss with your child the different months of the year and put the labels on the outer edge of the mat.
The child will then categorize the objects to which season they would be used or seen in.
